Please remove it once you have finished shooting.  We encourage you to make contact on arrival with the Club Captain (person with the whistle) who will who will provide you with instructions for shooting. You may only shoot 3 Arrows each end not 6, as this is the procedure for shooting indoors.

3. Runwell Sports & Social Club, Runwell Chase, Runwell, SS11 7PU
(Club members only)

Runwell Sports & Social Club Bar currently opens Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s. It provides reasonably priced hot food and drinks. The venue also holds a Function Room for use and is available to Hire. It also has a large hard surfaced car park for additional parking.

Our facilities include: Club House with water and electricity and are available to you 365 days a year. Parking on our ground 1st April – 30th October (ground conditions permitting).  There are also toilet facilities available for use.

Once you have become a Rayleigh Town Archery Club member you will be given a four-digit code. This operates several combination padlocks. The first one is on the chain that hangs between 2 posts as you enter our ground. The second on the gate as you enter our field. There is a further padlock operated by a key and an additional combination padlock that opens our large storage container on the right hand side of the field.  The key for the container padlock can be purchased from John Willson for £5.00.

You will also find the key for our Club house and toilets hanging in the large container. The toilets are situated in the football changing rooms at the back of   Runwell Sports & Social Club.

Juniors may only attend the ground when accompanied by an adult, and if there’s an adult member or club coach present. This is the ruling for Archery GB’s insurance policy. Juniors will not be provided with a key for this reason.

Please be advised you will need to set up your own target and again, if anyone else is there, it is always good to introduce yourself and ask for assistance if needed.  There are also 3 bosses on wheels. These make easier setting up and are chained with a combination locks. The codes will be the same on all our combination locks.

Please note: You must always put the chain across and scramble the locks on entering and leaving the ground.  The reason for doing this is, we have found strangers viewing our security procedures. If they enter the ground when it is locked, we can legally have them removed. If they enter the ground when it is not secure we are unable to do so. The code is strictly Private & Confidential to Club Members only.

Anyone caught shooting on our outdoor Range without Club Membership and a valid Runwell Sports & Social Club Membership card, will be asked to leave the ground instantly and not allowed to return.
